Massive Ransomware Attack Hits 74 Countries

A massive ransomeware assault has hit 74 countries  with 45,000 attacks in the last ten hours, according to security firm Kaspersky Lab. Russia was the primary target. The “WannaCry” ransomware “locks down all the files on an infected computer and asks the computer's administrator to pay in order to regain control of them,” CNN Money reports. It is spreading through “a Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) Windows exploit called "EternalBlue," which Microsoft released a patch for in March,”  the story continues.
