Mashable has hired Michael Branch as its first vice president of sales for the East Coast.
Starting July 5, Branch will oversee Mashable’s largest
sales team, based out of New York to connect its culture and tech-focused audience with brand partners in the East Coast.
Judah Wiedre, SVP of sales at Mashable, stated Branch
will lead the team to provide custom solutions to marketers that “combine insights from proprietary data with creative storytelling.”
Previously, Branch was VP of
advertising and branded content at Inverse, where he founded and built its ad sales department. There, he reported to its founder and CEO Dave Nemetz, who most recently founded sports site Bleacher
Report.
Before Inverse, Branch led ad product sales and strategy at Pandora. He also has worked in sales for College Humor and Rapp Collins Worldwide.
This
isn’t Mashable’s first hire this month. Just last week, Mary Gail Pezzimenti was tapped to become Mashable’s first head of branded content. The company's CRO Ed
Wise left his position earlier this month. The Wall Street
Journal reported the site plans to replace him.
