Yahoo Running After Saturday Outages

Yahoo Mail is apparently running smoothly after a slowdown in the Northeastern U.S. and the UK on Saturday.

Yahoo received 468 reports on Saturday, reflecting ongoing service problems in these areas, but the volume had fallen dramatically  by Monday morning, according to Yahoo’s Outage Report site.

Down Detector reported a spike in complaints about Yahoo on Saturday, and stated that Yahoo Mail had been having issues since 3.26 p.m. EST.

Of those received, 52% were for inability to send emails, 35% for log-in problems and 12% for inability to receive email.

The volume of comments fell off on Sunday and into Monday morning, but there was still a smattering of complaints.

One Down Detector visitor wrote late Sunday night: “This is outrageous! AT&T told me that there's been a yahoo outage for 1 1/2 months, though some customers haven't been affected or only now are being affected. YAHOO; Fix the problem!!!!!,"

Another posted: "Yahoo has been locking up and not working properly for the entire Veterans Day weekend. Very frustrating."

And one weekend email, attributed to "Al Gore," says:

"My email is so buggy and slow on Yahoo that I can hardly use it anymore. It freezes up and stalls. I can type a reply and have the words not show up on my email for 30 to 45 seconds. It's just the Yahoo email, if I use another email service everything is fine. It's not my computer, this one is new and it was the same way on my old computer. It's Yahoo!"
