BusinessWeek, Intel, and Zinio Systems have teamed up to create and deliver a hefty one-time-only online issue spotlighting multimedia audio and video plus editorial,
BusinessWeek said
Thursday. The ad-supported edition, which went live late Thursday, was adapted for the Web by Zinio, a company focused on digital magazine production, distribution, and circulation.
The
IT-100 issue looks at the top 100 technology companies worldwide in an effort to determine exactly what factors led to their success.
"We are delighted to offer our readers and advertisers an
innovative way to interact with our magazine content," William Kupper, president of BusinessWeek Group, said in a statement. "We want to remain on the cutting edge of this burgeoning technology, and
felt it was important to demonstrate to our audience how, in the digital medium, we can transform advertising and editorial into an interactive experience."
"This issue of BusinessWeek
offers the most rich media content of any major digital magazine in publishing history," Dave Zinman, senior vice president of marketing and product development for Zinio Systems, said in a statement.
The digital edition will be available at Zinio's online newsstand at www.zinio.com. BusinessWeek claims a worldwide circulation of nearly 1.2 million and over 5.6 million readers around
the globe each week. Zinio's other publishing clients include Hearst, McGraw-Hill, and Time Inc., among others.
