Racing CMO Takes On New Position

International Speedway Corporation’s Daryl Wolfe is taking on a joint leadership role over the corporate sales and corporate partnership functions of both ISC and NASCAR.

Wolfe was formerly ISC’s chief marketing officer and he will retain strategic oversight over ISC’s consumer marketing initiatives. In his new role as chief sales and partnership officer, Wolfe will be an officer of both ISC and NASCAR and will report jointly to  ISC President John Saunders and Steve Phelps, NASCAR’s executive vice president and chief global sales and marketing officer.

ISC and NASCAR will remain independent, with processes in place to ensure that both companies are represented well in the creation and management of existing and new partnerships. Wolfe will remain accountable to the separate leadership and board of directors of both companies.

The creation of this role follows the greater collaboration across the larger NASCAR industry that has occurred over the past three years.

With nearly half of the Fortune 100 investing in NASCAR, it is critical that the industry continues to evolve in ways that make the sport easier to do business with, according to a statement issued by NASCAR. “The creation of this new role will provide partners with smarter, integrated platforms and assets to drive value, high ROI and the incredible fan brand loyalty synonymous with NASCAR.”

Wolfe will work to create additional integration opportunities with race teams, media partners and tracks outside ISC properties as our sport continues to evolve toward a more collaborative face on all fronts. Greater industry integration will equate to more valuable platforms that should lead to heightened sponsor activation across the sport.
