'NYT' Debuts New Ad Highlighting Its Harassment Coverage

The New York Times will debut the next phase of an ongoing brand campaign during Sunday’s telecast of the Golden Globes.

The ad, from Droga5, highlights the paper’s ongoing sexual-harassment reporting, which has disclosed dozens of cases of sexual harassment by powerful figures in entertainment and other fields over the last several months.

The paper broke open the Harvey Weinstein scandal back in October.  It’s also exposed the misconduct of other luminaries, including Bill O’Reilly and Russell Simmons, among others.

The creative for the ad conveys the message that “the truth has power, the truth will not be threatened and the truth has a voice,” and draws upon the Times’  “The Truth is Hard” campaign that debuted during the Academy Awards last year.
