WPP Boosts Investment In India

While WPP has talked a lot recently about selling off assets the company also remains a buyer.

It just purchased (through its media arm GroupM) 50% of Indian mobile marketing agency Madhouse, giving it full ownership of the agency.

Separately the holding company said it would develop Sudler, Wunderman and Y&R as wholly-owned agencies in the market.

Previously the agencies were operated as joint venture agencies with Rediffusion.

CVL Srinivas, country manager for WPP in India, stated “India is a key growth region for us and we have a well-defined road map and vision for what we would like to achieve here.”
