Havas Chicago Auctions Art For Breast Cancer

Havas Chicago is transforming its lobby into an art auction gallery as part of its effort to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Guests are welcome to visit the lobby to view and bid on sculptures and paintings. The agency is also accepting online bids via eBay through the end of October. Each piece of art displayed somehow ties into the fight against breast cancer.

Bid prices correlate to breast cancer statistics. For instance, paintings priced at $120, representing the estimated 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer that are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. this year. Busts start at $266, again representing the number of new cases.

Havas is also selling t-shirts, prints and an informational "zine" with similarly linked pricing models. Postcards, however, are free.

All proceeds from the auction benefit breast cancer research and care. For those who stop by and post a photo using #NakedTruth, Havas is making a donation to @thepinkagenda, a non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research.

The agency reports many paintings have already been sold, as well as two sculptures, and "numerous prints, zines and t-shirts."

Last month, Havas Chicago supported September's National Suicide Prevention Month by installing 121 mannequins in the small lobby that visitors had to navigate to get to the office in order to illustrate the statistic that 121 people kill themselves every day.
