IPG Veteran Signs On with New Content Shop Newhouse

Jason Blake has been named CMO for the creative content and communications agency Newhouse, which launched with offices in New York and Los Angeles earlier this fall.

Most recently, Blake was vice president of business development at IPG's Jack Morton Worldwide.

Over Blake's 20-year career, he has held senior agency roles at GroupM Entertainment & Sports Partnerships, MEC and Strategic Agency.

Blake is credited with having developed consumer engagement programs for Anheuser-Busch InBev, AT&T, Bacardi, EA SPORTS, and others. He also held branded content and integrated marketing and business development roles at ESPN and Disney Internet Group.

Newhouse was dreamed up by Rob Nuell, an entertainment industry veteran, who brought together partners from the PR, social, strategy and creative worlds to explore new ways to tell brand stories. Nuell is the former senior vice president of new media, Miramax and a cofounder of social agency Deep Focus.

Managing partners at the new agency include head of creative Erik Blair, head of strategy and social media Patrick Sammon, and head of PR Tasya Swisko.

The agency launched with charter clients 20th Century Fox, Screen Media, History, Lionsgate/Pantelion and The Flagship Brewery Company, among others.

The agency already has expansion plans — London and Portland, Maine — for 2019.
