Newspaper Body Drops Action Over Impress Regulator

The News Media Association, which represents UK newspapers, has dropped its legal action against the Press Recognition Panel for recognising the new regulator, Impress. Press Gazette reveals that the move has come about after an earlier related hearing went against the NMA and because the body believes the Government is unlikely to punish regulators not recognised by Royal Charter.
