Bergeron Steps Down As 'SB Nation' EIC, Kim Named Digital Editor, 'Saveur'

Elena Bergeron is stepping down as SB Nation's editor-in-chief. Executive producer Ryan Nanni will step in as the interim top editor of the Vox Media-owned sports site.

Bergeron served as editor-in-chief for two years.

According to an email sent to staff on Wednesday by Vox Media publisher Melissa Bell, Bergeron will oversee the transition and help hire the new editor before leaving March 15.

Bell wrote she is "grateful for all her hard work."

SB Nation has an audience of 75 million, according to Bell’s email, obtained by Deadspin.

Bergeron oversaw a network of over 75 podcasts, helped launch the brand's first TV show (“Foul Play,” a 10-episode true-crime sports docu-series), and grew SB Nation’s YouTube audience over 200%.

Separately, Frances Kim has been named digital editor of Bonnier food title Saveur. Kim was previously associate digital editor at Meredith Corp.’s Martha Stewart Living.

D.J. Costantino has been named associate digital editor of Saveur. He comes from StarChefs, where he spent two years as a member of the editorial team.
