JetBlue's 'All You Can Jet' Contest Requires Empty Instagram

Forget those calorie-laden all-you-can-eat buffets. JetBlue is hosting an “all-you-can” contest that promises to be way more fun for three winners.

JetBlue’s “All You Can Jet” Sweepstakes has its own microsite. The contest began Feb. 27 and ends March 8 at 8:59:59 a.m. EST.

Entrants are required to have an Instagram account. Here’s the catch, and it’s a big one. Contestants must delete or archive ALL current photos and replace with the JetBlue photo from the contest website, customizing the image by completing the “All You Can _________” caption and adding the hashtag #AllYouCanJetSweepstakes and @jetblue.

Entrants must keep their Instagram feeds clear through 11:59:59 p.m. EST on March 8. Instagram accounts must be set to “public” for entries to be eligible. Contestants can return the account to “private” any time after the winners have been announced. Presumably, the hope is that Instagram users will be bombed with these images on their feeds.

Brian Kelly, founder and CEO of The Points Guy website, offers a handy instruction guide on how to archive along with his thoughts on the contest.

JetBlue previously offered for purchase 30-day “All you can jet” passes, which Kelly purchased for $699 in 2010.

“JetBlue’s unlimited pass kickstarted my travel-writing career, and gave me a full month of incredible memories,” Kelly writes.  “It was a magical experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a pass again. Sadly, that simply is not an option this time around — and judging by the chuckle I’ve received when suggesting the return of the All You Can Jet pass to various JetBlue employees over the years, I’m guessing a paid program won’t be returning anytime soon.”

Not surprisingly, JetBlue has a lengthy list of contest rules including “entering multiple entries will result in sweepstakes disqualification. Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means will be void. Entries must be the entrant’s own original work, and must not include or depict any brand other than sponsor’s.”

The sweepstakes is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram, according to the rules.

The three winners will receive a JetBlue All You Can Jet Pass valid for unlimited air travel (subject to availability) for one year for winner and one travel companion per flight on any JetBlue-operated flights. The approximate retail value of each grand prize is $20,000.
