Gmail users are suffering a service disruption that began Monday evening around 10:20 p.m. and is continuing Tuesday morning.

Service was most heavily disrupted in the Northeastern U.S. and Japan, with lesser outages in Georgia, the UK and parts of  the Asia-Pacific region, according to the downdetector map. Google Drive has also been affected to a degree.

"We're investigating reports of an issue with Gmail," Google says in a service message."We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior."

This morning’s issues include login (36%), receive messages (32%) and attachments (30%), according to downdetector.

“Still getting: Address not found, when emailing to eastern USA usual addresses,” writes one Gmail user on downdetector. “This is the second day.”

“Unable to send emails, preview attachments, move emails from inbox to other folders and mark emails unread,” say another.

Engineer Dave Webster writes: "We're still getting intermittent issues with gmail when sending via smtp.gmail.com for certain customers. The issue is related to DNS though googles public servers 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 refuse to resolve the address. even cloud flares 1.0.0.1 servers not providing DNS resolution but 1.1.1.1 does. So somethings still not 100% OpenDNS seems to be the only one that's 100% everywhere.”
