Business.com Updates Marketing Platform, New Options For SMB Owners

Business.com, a site aimed at small- and medium-sized business owners, has updated its marketing services platform with two new features to help connect buyers and sellers of business products and solutions.

Business.com receives over 10 million monthly visits cross-platform, per the company, and over 100,000 sales and marketing qualified leads for 200 product and service categories — from business phone systems to medical devices, Wayne Silverman, Business.com’s Chief Revenue Officer, told Publishers Daily.

Before the changes, the company's marketing platform focused on sales qualified leads and delivering them to vendors. A small business owner can send a request for a quote, and that client would be matched with a company that sells those services.

“Finding customers is harder than ever, and buyers are more educated than ever,” stated Doug Llewellyn, CEO of Business.com. “Our updated platform was designed to address this increasingly savvy buying audience and seamlessly connect those buyers with the products and services they are ready to purchase.”

Last year, Business.com delivered nearly 1 million completed request for quotes, Silverman said,

The platform now offers marketing qualified leads and qualified traffic.

With the qualified traffic program at Business.com, a prospective buyer is directly routed to a seller’s website or content, through native advertising, emails or retargeting, “to understand where individuals are in the buying cycle earlier than before,” Silverman said.

The other new program the platform offers is marketing qualified leads, where firms that sell to mid-to-large companies can match their content to potential buyers through Business.com’s marketing platform, Silverman said.

Business.com’s platform has 3,600 active customers, from local companies to larger businesses, he noted.
