Yes We Cannes: The Pre-Festival Action Was On-The-Decks And Off-The-Record


CANNES, FRANCE -- “Off-the-record” seems to be the most overheard phrase being uttered during the kickoff to this year's Lions Festival here.

Many of the unofficial presentations happening outside the Palais -- the official conference auditorium -- are strictly top secret, and MediaLink (now owned by Cannes parent company Ascential) is hosting a separate CLX activation (nearly the size of Costco) with senior executives speaking in small discussion groups without the prying ears of press media over the next coming days.

Much of the off-site mingling is taking place on the rows of yachts anchored along the marina adjacent to the Palais, such as the one pictured here, co-hosted by PlaceIQ and Zefr.
