As Chief Technology Officer, Michael Young will oversee technology strategy at Reuters, including “technology development, architecture, platforms, testing and operational resiliency,” according to the company.
He takes on the role beginning August 6. Young will report to Michael Friedenberg, president of Reuters.
“The impact of technology within Reuters is of critical importance in how we serve our customers,” Friedenberg stated.
He added that Young’s experience “will be a significant asset as we further modernize our organization and deliver coverage of the real world in real time.”
Last month, Reuters hired Josh London, former global CMO of IDG Communications, as its first Chief Marketing Officer. Now the company has two new faces on its executive team.
Young is currently the head of the digital experience platform for Reuters’ parent company Thomson Reuters, where he is responsible for all technology and development, including digital properties, ecommerce sites and self-service technologies.
Young was previously head of risk development.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters in 2017, Young served as CTO at two companies: Paycase and Architelos.
