Design Luminary Jessica Walsh Launches Her Own Agency

Award-winning designer Jessica Walsh has started a new agency &Walsh in New York. Capabilities of the shop include brand strategy, design, art direction and production across all platforms.

For the last seven years, Walsh has been a partner in the firm of Sagmeister & Walsh, which she was credited with expanding to a full-service creative agency.

Walsh indicated that she and Stefan Sagmeister will continue to work on select projects together.

Walsh and her new firm are already hard at work for a roster including Snapchat, Adobe, Apple, Izze, Beats by Dre, The Gap, Meetup and Pet Plate. The firm has also announced projects for a host of new clients, including Kenzo and website builder, Wix.

“In recent years, you can see many design studios and agencies trying to replicate the ‘startup brand’ look and feel. The result is that all these brands look practically identical. When you follow what everyone else is doing and create a trendy brand, you’re putting a ticking time bomb on your branding, she stated.

"In a few years, it will be outdated and irrelevant. We aim to create memorable and timeless brands that, above all else, function for our clients’ goals and resonate with their audiences,” Walsh added.

Walsh is known as an industry thought leader who has been outspoken on issues like gender equality. She founded Ladies, Wine And Design, an empowerment group that offers mentorship circles, portfolio reviews, talks and networking events.

She is also coauthor of the book "40 Days Of Dating: An Experiment."
