Toyota Investing $600 Million In Ride-Hailing Venture

Toyota Motor Corporation has agreed with Didi Chuxing (DiDi) to invest $600 million to expand collaboration in mobility as a service in China.

The two companies plan to create vehicle-related services for ride-hailing drivers.

The cars being used are equipped with Toyota’s in-vehicle device Trans Log, using the intelligent analysis capabilities of Toyota’s mobility platform.

The collaboration is expected to allow Toyota and DiDi to expand various connected services of the Toyota mobility platform.

"DiDi is committed to help cities achieve new energy and smart transportation goals with partners from home and abroad,” stated Stephen Zhu, senior vice president of DiDi. “We look forward to combining DiDi's expertise in AI-based large-scale mobility operations and Toyota's connected vehicle technology to build a next-generation intelligent transportation framework for sustainable cities."

I thought they were running out of Sadie Hawkins Dance partners.  I guess you just have to sniff out the money.

I get 10 calls a day from who-knows-where, telling me that my Social Security has been "suspended", and to find out more, "press 1" to speak to an "authorized agent"  Even the local radio has put out a warning that by pressing 1, may give these hackers access to your phone info.

Yet, these brain-i-acs want us all to put our "Smart house" access  in our phone, Our banking info,  passwords, codes for your driverless car etc and  NO ONE will ever try to commandeer your Auto-tonomous car.   These people need to put down the crack pipe.
"Mr. Smith, we have found a software glitch in your Self-drive software, and we'll need
access to correct the situation.  Please pull over and transfer the info and we'll have you back on the road in a matter of minutes"
