Email The Basis Of Paperless B2B Payment Service

Bento for Business is partnering with Dwolla Inc. to launch Bento Pay, a service  that enables businesses to make and receive payments based on the customer’s email address.

Firms can connect the email to a valid bank account and routing information, then Bento Pay deposits the payment into a specified bank account, the firm says.

The service, which integrates Dwolla’s ACH payment API, will disrupt a field that has relied on paper checks and time-consuming processes to facilitate payments, states Jeff Pomeroy, VP of product. It is another sign that email addresses are now the main online identifier.

Customers can receive payment through a virtual card or by an ACH payment, the firm says.

Bento for Business, founded in 2014, offers spending and expense management solutions to SMBs.
