The autonomous vehicle
market may be big, but it is anything but fast.
Projected shipments in the consumer autonomous vehicle market just got scaled back, by a lot.
By 2025, 12 million consumer autonomous
vehicles will be shipped, according to estimates -- about half of what was projected in the previous report by Tractica.
In the new forecast, Tractica pulled back its consumer autonomous
vehicle shipment estimates by three years.
“We are seeing a much more gradual ramp-up as technical and regulatory hurdles catch up with the promise of the market,” states the
report.
The market for unmanned aerial vehicles, AKA drones, also experienced a slowdown for growth potential expected until at least 2021.
For self-driving vehicles, the future can be
a tricky thing.
