HGTV, Food Network Promote Strategy Executive Julie Taylor

HGTV, Food Network and Cooking Channel have named Julie Taylor group senior vice president, U.S. scheduling and program strategy.

A nine-year company vet, Taylor is charged with managing content and program lineup, as well as scheduling for more than 1,450 hours of the cablers’ shows.

In addition, she will support global teams that distribute the channels.

Taylor reports to Courtney White, president, Food Network and Cooking Channel.

Previously, she served as senior vice president, program planning and strategy for HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country.

She also led the planning for Food Network’s upcoming holiday season, which begins Sept. 23. Taylor is credited with increasing premiere hours for Halloween, Thanksgiving Christmas and Hanukkah.

White called Taylor “a masterful listener” and said she was “instrumental in building night-after-night appointment viewing for top-rated competitions like "Worst Cooks in America" and the reboot of "Restaurant: Impossible."  



One of her successes was the recent Sept. 9 "A Very Brady Renovation" on HGTV, which earned 8.1 million viewers.

Prior to this, she worked for Scripps Productions.

The Food Network claims distribution in nearly 100 million U.S. households, and it counts 46 million unique web users monthly.
