Wild Sky Media Names Emily Smith CEO

Wild Sky Media, home to parenting and lifestyle brands CafeMomLittleThingsRevelist and MamasLatinas, has named Emily Smith its Chief Executive Officer.

Johanna Torres has been promoted to senior vice president of content and marketing and will assume Smith’s previous duties.

Smith joined Wild Sky Media in 2017 and helped lead the company through a transitional period, serving as senior vice president and later president. Wild Sky Media spun off from RockYou Media in 2019, establishing itself as a stand-alone media company.

Under Smith’s leadership, Wild Sky’s portfolio has become a leading voice in the parenting space.

Smith stated: “The parenting category is prime for a next generation of brands, for experiences that reflect a young woman’s point of view and a recognition that her phone is always within reach."

She added that by putting the audience first and earning their loyalty, "we can take the lead in establishing ourselves as the dominant portal for our brand partners and agency clients that seek to understand these women and create solutions for their busy lives.”

Just last month, Wild Sky launched its new online community Mom.com.

At that time, Smith told Publishers Daily: “Based on the insights we collected through our parenting portfolio and our proprietary Kaleidoscope Moms study, we learned that moms overall are looking for a multitude of perspectives to then take those ideas and mash them up into her own solutions.”

Prior to joining Wild Sky, Smith served as Chief Growth Officer at Brit + Co, where the core site and social platforms eventually reached over 129 million people. She has also held leadership roles at Tribune Publishing Company and The Walt Disney Company.

Torres is the founding EIC of Wild Sky brand MamásLatinas. Most recently, she held the position of vice president of content and editorial development.
