5G Boundaries Tested In AT&T Hackathon

Live streaming, mobile security and artificial intelligence were among the top winning solutions at the AT&T 5G Hackathon held in Los Angeles over the weekend.

More than 200 developers, designers and creators in more than 40 teams assembled to build and test mobile solutions using 5G speeds in a competition for $100,000 in cash prizes.

Winners included Fitstream, for a live streaming, interactive platform to stream classes to customers’ mobile phones, Multistream, for a mobile security monitoring solution, and Attention AI for an AI system to provide teachers with relevant and contextual information as a teaching aid.

Contestants used Samsung Galaxy S10 5G devices supplied by AT&T.

Additional winning entries included a robotic cooking platform running over 5G, a system for advanced warnings of earthquakes and an application to aid search and rescue operations.
