Nielsen Global Connect Taps IBM's Woods As CMO

Nielsen Global Connect has named Jacqueline Woods chief marketing officer, starting December 1.

Woods joins Nielsen from IBM, where she had served since 2010 as CMO of IBM’s Partner Ecosystem business.

Early this month, Nielsen Holdings announced that Global Connect, its marketing services unit, is being split off, as a newly publicly traded company, from its Global Media business.

In her new role, Woods will lead all aspects of global marketing for Global Connect and report to the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Pat Dodd.

As CMO for IBM’s global business partners business, Woods’s marketing efforts focused on growing its channel business by using data and analytics to enhance business partners’ use of cloud, AI and SaaS technologies.

Prior to that, Woods served as CMO of IBM Global Financing, leading marketing and communications, strategy, and offerings development for the division.

Her background also includes executive roles at General Electric, Oracle and Verizon, according to the release.
