U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance, Meredith Corp. Team For Data-Driven Food Platform

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) is teaming up with Meredith Corp. to launch a content platform intended to deliver real-time trends and topics focused on the food and agriculture ecosystem.

The platform will focus on topics like sustainability, climate-smart farming and carbon sequestration, appearing as articles, infographics, video and podcasts.

“We’re bridging the gap between the farm and food. Our platform will focus on these two critical areas through the lens of how they can enhance the future of food systems,” David Kurns, editorial content director of Meredith Agrimedia, told Publishers Daily.

“Can production farming solve our carbon problem? How do consumers perceive alternative foods? How can restaurants strike up partnerships with local farmers? These are just some of the subjects we’re focusing our attention and coverage,” he added.

The content platform, set to launch nationwide this spring at usfarmersandranchers.org, will rely on Meredith’s real-time data and consumer insights to build relevant content, while leveraging the knowledge of its teams at Successful Farming and Foundry Food & Agriculture.

Kurns noted that Meredith has a wealth of insights into “a range of current issues that pertain to the future of food, topics that run the gamut from food waste and pesticides to eco-farming and sustainable food production.

"Through our food taxonomies, we have a keen understanding of our consumers’ interests and their consumption of food content.”
