Waymo Self-Driving Car Involved in Crash

One of Waymo’s self-driving vehicles was involved in an accident in Tempe, Arizona, on Thursday.

The vehicle was operating in manual mode at the time, according to the company.

“Another vehicle erratically swerved in front of our vehicle, braking aggressively and abruptly coming to a full stop on a 45 mile-per-hour road,” a Waymo spokesperson told the AI & IoT Daily.

The Waymo vehicle rear-ended the other car as a result.

After reporting neck pain, the Waymo vehicle operator was taken to a local hospital. She has since been released with minor injuries.
