Comcast, Fox Ink Long-Term Renewal Of Fox Channels Distribution Deal

Fox Corp. and Comcast have announced a long-term renewal agreement spanning all of Fox’s channels: Fox Television Stations, Fox News Channel, Fox Business, FS1, FS2, BTN, and Fox Deportes.

The deal includes Comcast retransmission of Fox stations to its Xfinity customers, and video-on-demand and TV everywhere rights for the networks, enabling viewing through the Xfinity Stream and Fox’s sports, news and Now apps.

Those platforms have dynamic advertising insertion capabilities.

Comcast lost 733,000 video subscribers in 2019, but remains one of the country’s largest pay-TV and broadband providers, with some 21.25 million video subscribers (including 966,000  business subscribers).

Comcast’s total customers rose by 372,000, to 31.5 million, in Q4, as its high-speed internet users continued to increase. At the end of last year, those users totaled 1.4 million.
