Timeis taking its "Time 100" franchise virtual with a new live series dubbed "Time 100 Talks." The first in the series, called "Time 100 Talks: Finding Hope," airs on Thursday, April 23 and is sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation.

Time’s newly expanded “Time 100” summit was set to take place April 21-22 at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The event’s theme stems from Time’s special report and issue “Finding Hope,” now on newsstands, which approaches the COVID-19 pandemic with insights and solutions.

"Finding Hope" panelists include immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), filmmaker and UNHCR Special Envoy Angelina Jolie, San Francisco Mayor London Breed, journalist Katie Couric, public health advocate Dr. Leana Wen, epidemiologist Dr. Larry Brilliant, artist and photographer JR, Rockefeller Foundation president Rajiv Shah and John Legend, who is set to perform.

“The coronavirus pandemic has changed nearly every aspect of our lives. With 'Time 100 Talks,' our goal is to help our audience navigate this new reality and point the way toward hope for the future,” stated Time EIC-CEO Edward Felsenthal.

Future themes and formats will be announced in coming weeks.

In March, Time announced it would cancel its inaugural “100 Women of the Year” event due to the pandemic.
