Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and The Great American Takeout, with Land O’Lakes Foodservice and Tabasco supporting local restaurants with a fiesta. 

While Cinco de Mayo is typically the busiest day of the year for Mexican restaurants, the COVID-19 crisis has prompted restaurants nationwide to close their dining rooms. Like other eateries, these restaurants are dependent on takeout and delivery orders to survive. 

The Great American Takeout—a movement started in March to support the struggling restaurant industry—is asking Americans to support their favorite Mexican restaurants by ordering a Cinco de Mayo meal for takeout or delivery.  

To thank supporters, Land O’Lakes Foodservice and Tabasco will give away fifty-five $55 gift cards to participants who share their at-home fiesta on social media.  

Participants can post a picture of themselves raising a taco, burrito, cerveza, or margarita to the camera in recognition of the employees who are keeping people fed and their businesses open during the health crisis.
