TBWA\Media Arts Lab Los Angeles ranks as the top agency
according to the ADC Awards 2020 Global Rankings by the One Club for Creativity. The shop’s “Bounce” work for Apple put it over the top.
Rankings are determined by the
cumulative point totals of ADC Cubes and Merits awarded.
Scholz & Friends, Berlin; BBDO; Goodby Silverstein & Partners and McCann New York round out the top five.
Individual creatives are also recognized and not surprisingly many hail from the most honored agencies. Matthias Spaetgens at Scholz & Friends scored the top spot. Greg Hahn, who recently
departed BBDO, placed second while BBDO colleague David Lubars won third place.
Spotify, Google, and RT (Russia Today) ranked as the top in-house agencies or studios according to the
judges.
“These results are particularly significant because the ADC Annual Awards is one of the only shows to have a recognized global awards ranking this year,” said Kevin
Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club for Creativity. “The creative community around the world will look to this ranking to see how they measure up in terms of excellence in craft and innovation,
as decided by a leading global jury of their peers.”

This year, ADC had 549 freelance entries, resulting in 99 winning entries from freelancers.
There were 950 total entries from
small agencies/studios, resulting in 158 winning entries from that group.
This large influx of nominations from non-holding company shops was a result of ADC initiating a tiered-pricing system
to make it more affordable for freelancers and small agencies/studios to enter, thus giving more of them the opportunity to have their work judged alongside the large agencies.
