Google Adds Settings Menu For Customizing Gmail Inbox

Google has added a settings menu that it says can help users find and use different layouts and themes in their inboxes.

According to a blog post on G Suite Updates, the new menu will make it easier for G Suite clients and Gmail users to find these options:

  • Customizing the density of text and information displayed
  • Choosing a different inbox type to help intelligently prioritize and organize emails
  • Adding reading panes to quickly see email contents
  • Applying themes to personalize the look and feel of the inbox.

The post adds that there are no new settings, and there will be no changes imposed on users’ existing settings

The Verge notes that setting allows users to adjust their inbox “without leaving the page.”
