Guardian Media Group has named Keith Underwood its Chief Financial and Operating Officer.

He succeeds former CFO Richard Kerr, who announced his departure in December. Kerr is now CFO at Dennis Publishing.

The combined title is a new one at Guardian Media Group.

Underwood spent more than 10 years in senior executive roles at Channel 4, most recently as its CFO/COO. He was responsible for finance, technology, content management, broadcast and corporate operations and workspace.

Underwood also led the initiative to reinvent and relaunch All4, Channel 4’s video-on-demand service.

Before joining Channel 4, Keith had worked at Discovery Networks International, Sky and PwC.

Underwood will take on the role June 22.

Guardian Media Group got a new CEO in March: Annette Thomas, a neuroscientist and former chief executive of Web of Science Group and Macmillan Science and Education.
