Ad Hits Trump Where Millions Are Suffering: Job Losses

They’ve called him a coward. They’ve called him the worst president in the nation’s history. And now the folks at the Lincoln Project have finally gotten around to the issue that often upends presidencies.

As Clinton advisor James Carville famously put it a few decades back: “It’s the economy, stupid.”

Now with the country in recession and with nearly 8 million fewer employed than when he took office, Trump has a huge hole to climb out of on the economic front.

I won’t jinx it by saying it’s an impossible task that will kill any chance for re-election, but here’s hoping.

The LP ad, issued Sunday, notes that Trump’s “incompetence, ignorance and indifference have made him the most deadly job-killing president in our history. With so many losing their jobs, isn’t it time Donald Trump lost his?"

I like the sound of that — “You’re Fired!” — a phrase that helped inflate his national profile via "The Apprentice." (Thank you, NBC.)

The folks behind the LP ads certainly know how to stoke feelings of fear and anger. They’re so good at it you’d think they’re Republicans.

Oh wait, they are Republicans. Hopefully, Biden’s team is tuning in and taking notes.

Making up things like far-left fascism aren't really going to help Trump when the reality is that people don't have jobs...
