Imagine Being In A Coma The Last 3 1/2 Years

The Lincoln Project is out with a new political ad about a young republican who wakes up after being in a coma for the last three-and-a-half years.

The patient is surrounded by his family—ever faithful Trump Deplorables—who try to rationalize Trump’s pathological behavior and its devastating effects on the economy, the health of Americans and Democracy in general.

The ad was directed by Hollywood film maker Jon Tureltaub (“The Meg,” “National Treasure”).

It's a long ad, like six-minutes-plus long and it’s full of zingers. At one point the patient asks how Trump got Mexico to pay for “the wall.” Looking down at the floor the patient’s dad responds, “I don’t think I remember him saying that.”

In a stage whisper the patient’s mom leans over to the dad and says, “don’t mention the kids in the cages,” a comment the patient finds troubling.

“As I remember it his wife is an immigrant,” the patient says, referring to Melania Trump.

“Oh isn’t she pretty?” the mom states. “She’s from one of those non-shit-hole countries.”

The ad goes on like that hilariously skewering Trump’s actions on COVID-19, social justice and the economy and other issues. By the end of the ad the patient is so appalled by what’s gone on he wants to pull the plug on whatever hospital machinery next to the bed is sustaining him.

“It would be funny if it wasn’t so true,” said Rick Wilson, co-founder of The Lincoln Project.

You had to remind me, didn’t you Rick.
