WarnerMedia (Briefly) Promotes In-Car Streaming Service On Twitter

AT&T, which revealed the existence of an in-car streaming service, WarnerMedia Ride, in a trademark filing in August, has now provided more information via a short-lived verified Twitter account for the service.

The soon-deleted tweet included links to download a WarnerMedia Ride app on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play, although only the Apple link was active, reports CNET.

The listing in the App Store described the service as “an exclusive experience for AT&T In-car Wi-Fi customers and passengers" that will allow for watching a "rotating selection of fresh and exciting live channels and on-demand content."

It also said the service will be included at no additional cost for AT&T customers with an unlimited AT&T in-car Wi-Fi plan, “a $20 per month add-on for compatible cars that also allows for turning your car into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot,” notes CNET, adding that the iOS version featured content from a wide variety of AT&T media properties (CNN, HBO Max and more).

“Your vehicle just got more entertaining!,” said the tweet on @warnermediaride. “Download WarnerMedia RIDE to access live and on-demand entertainment including hit shows, animation classics and documentaries. Only for AT&T in-car Wi-Fi users. Apple go.att.com/WMRide or Google go.att.com/WMRide2.”

No information yet on when the Android app will be available.

AT&T did not respond to CNET’s request for comment.
