Some in the military believe that the plethora of data generated for and by marketers creates "cognitive attacks" that have become "serious as any violent threat." Social media and search
engines are not doing enough to protect people. The threats are being created mostly by foreign adversaries who influenc veterans through social media by "impersonating veteran service organizations
