The editor in chief of the Forward, the Jewish publication dating back to the early 20^th century, is rebranding her weekly email newsletter. It will now be called Looking Forward With Jodi Rudoren.

Launched two years ago, the newsletter is designed to be printed in advance as a PDF so readers observing the Jewish sabbath can read it without going online. 

Rudoren had been signing off every week with the words, “looking Forward” (pun intended, she writes). 

The newsletter, is also being redesigned to feature larger type. 

“The free PDF to download and print stories to savor over Shabbat and Sunday is still here, but now you can actually see the beautiful cover of said PDF -- and have simple one-click options to either get the PDF or read them online,” Rudoren continues. 

Rudoren notes that the original print publication had one English word at the top: Forward!

“I imagine its founding editors and early readers, immigrants from Eastern Europe, were looking Forward to their news lives as Jewish-Americans at the dawn of the 20th century.” Rudoren writes.
