The Lincoln Project is starting to target individual corporations that continue to support politicians it believes support voter suppression and other forms of inequality, as well as those that don’t support democratic principles, such as acknowledging the outcome of the 2020 elections.

First on the LP’s corporate hit list: Jet Blue.

The group is circulating a petition demanding the company stop making political contributions to the 147 Republicans that refused to ratify President Joe Biden’s election, politicians it refers to as the “sedition caucus.”

“When Major League Baseball moved the All-Star Game from Georgia, it sent a signal,” the LP stated. “It was the first salvo from corporate America in the fight against voter suppression. But it can't be the last. … If enough of us make it clear that we won't stand for inequality, voter suppression, and sedition -- we will make a difference.”

JetBlue, the LP asserts, “is still giving money to members of Congress who voted to overturn Joe Biden's election. That has to stop, right now.” With enough support, the group says: “We can show JetBlue that hundreds of thousands of their customers are watching. And their actions have consequences.”

The LP said it would be targeting other wayward corporate citizens soon.

JetBlue didn’t respond to a query seeking comment.
