SparkPost Acquires Taxi For Email, Adding Email Production To Its Sending Capability

SparkPost, which itself is in the process of being purchased by MessageBird, has acquired Taxi for Email, an email design and productivity platform for enterprise-level email teams, SparkPost announced this morning. Terms were not disclosed.

The deal combines Taxi for Email’s email production and SparkPost’s sending capabilities. SparkPost sends from 4 trillion to 5 trillion emails per year.

“The industry has long accepted that email production is hard and takes more time than it should, especially in larger, more complex companies,” states Rich Harris, CEO of SparkPost. “By focusing on these pain points Taxi for Email has made email production 80% faster, and enabled users to rapidly segment and personalize campaigns.

The combined firms will enable brands and agencies to develop better emails at scale, SparkPost claims. Users can build emails within Taxi and send with SparkPost, it adds.

SparkPost plans to add further design and send functionality in the future.

Also, SparkPost can deliver coding syntax recognition with channel partners such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle, Adobe, Iterable and Braze, and other big third-party email providers.

Last month, MessageBird announced it is acquiring SparkPost for $600 million. The purchase is expected to close in Q2.
