Albertsons Cos. has hired a retail transformation expert as its next president and chief financial officer just a few weeks after announcing a deal with Uber. Sharon McCollam, 59, retired from Best
Buy in 2016. She was the co-pilot of Best Buy’s Renew Blue transformation, "which
has been regarded as one of the foremost
omnichannel transformations in the retail sector," according to Progressive Grocer.
Albertsons recently announced it will double the availability of its grocery delivery service in the
United States this year via a 1,200-store partnership with Uber.
