Scott Thaler, a marketing executive with experience in consumer, B2B, and explicitly in marketing ad agencies, has joined Houston-based 9thWonder Agency as Chief Marketing Officer.

Thaler, who is best known as the CMO of Mattress Firm, previously held senior marketing positions at Equifax, Zimmerman Advertising, and other organizations.

9th Wonder President Josh Okun cited Thaler’s “like-minded industry experience” and the agency said he will focus explicitly on growing the agency’s food and retail roster, as well as promoting its “ConsumerX” strategic planning approach to new clients.

Thaler has extensive retail, healthcare and fast-food experience with brands like McDonald's, White Castle, Party City, Five Below, Michael's, Broward Health, Dunkin' Donuts, which coincides with 9thWonder's in-depth portfolio, including Royal Rice, Jack in the Box, Nemours Children's Hospital, Natrol, and Daawat Rice.
