Privacy firm Cytrio has added GDPR protections to its compliance platform.
Cytrio offers workflows and automated data discovery to help companies
reduce the time to respond to a data subject access request (DSAR) and save on costs. Its portal provides a 2-click process for the consumer to submit a DSAR.
In addition, Cytrio
provides Article 30 Record of Processing Activity (ROPA) reports to meet audit requirements.
The firn’s mission is to help brands “cost-effectively address the growing list
of data privacy regulatory challenges without the need for dedicated privacy teams, and for many, that includes complying with GDPR,” says Vijay Basani, founder and CEO of
Cytrio.
In November 2021, Cytrio introduced a tool to assist mid-market firms in complying with such U.S. state laws as California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA ), the
California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act of 2021 (VCDPA), and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) of 2021.
Cytrio helped SA International, a digital
printing software provider, “connect to our data warehouse and go through the workflow of requesting a report of personal information both from the end user side and from the company side, all
in less than an hour,” says Lloyd Cundiff, CTO at SA International.
Cundiff adds: “The setup was easier than expected. Once our database was
connected, CYTRIO automatically detected much of the personal information we are holding in the warehouse.”
Cytrio says 1,027 fines have been levied
under GDPR as of March 2022 -- totaling $1.8 billion to date.
