Grey New York has tapped Nur El Shami as COO.
Most recently, El Shami was COO at WaitWhat, a media invention company. Earlier, she worked with Grey NY CEO Amber Guild at The New York Times, transforming the digital branded content division, T Brand Studios, as well as the global ad division.
Her remit includes Grey’s approach to the future of work, reshaping project and operational management and ensuring all agency units collaborate well together.
Before working in the ad business, El Shami held marketing posts at fashion labels in Europe, later founding her own fine-art platform in London to support emerging artists.
Guild said she tapped El Shami as a partner who can drive “transformation and help enact the next phase of change for this studio.”
In mid-July, Grey announced the appointment of Laura Maness as Global CEO, joining the agency on Sept. 1.
Grey clients include Pringles, the Swedish Tourist Association, Pantene and Volvo, among others.
