All U.S. Instagram, Facebook Users Can Now Share NFTs On, Between The Platforms

After Meta began testing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Instagram in May and on Facebook in June, the social media giant announced on Thursday that all Facebook and Instagram users in the U.S. can connect their crypto wallets and share their NFTs on and between both platforms.

In August, Meta also granted NFT support to select Instagram users in 100 countries. Now, the company has expanded that support on Instagram to all users in those 100 countries.

Users of both Facebook and Instagram have the option to connect various crypto wallets to their accounts, including Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet. After connecting their wallets, they will be able to post NFTs minted on the Ethereum, Polygon and Flow blockchains.

The option to connect can be found in the “digital collectibles” tab under settings on either platform. To do so successfully, users must have the latest version of the apps downloaded.

After a user’s wallet is connected, they can easily share their NFTs directly to their feed via “Share to Feed.” There will be a new collectibles section available to select from on both apps.

Users can also add captions when posting their NFTs, which will have a shimmer effect on it so as to differentiate it from regular posts. According to Meta, no fees will be issued when posting or sharing NFTs on Instagram and Facebook.
