Curaleaf, the largest national retail cannabis company by market capital, officially announced the debut of its standalone mobile app yesterday.
The app is available to use in every state where the Wakefield, Massachusetts-based company operates -- 19 of the 21 U.S. states that have legalized recreational cannabis for adult use. It can now be downloaded via the Apple App Store nationally.
The app “serves to create a streamlined and approachable shopping experience for our patients and customers across the country,” Curaleaf CEO Matt Darin said in a release, adding that the app “serves as a personalized guide through our vast brand and product portfolio.”
Namely, the Curaleaf app is designed to provide an easy way for customers to order Curaleaf products for pickup at Curaleaf locations, or delivery, where available; receive exclusive updates on new products and discounts; as well as earn, track and redeem rewards. The latter follows Curaleaf’s rollout of its revamped Curaleaf Rewards Program back in April. The Curaleaf App launch also follows the company’s recent national rebranding of its Select vape brand.

The launch of the app coincided with Curaleaf’s announcement that it will report its second quarter financial results on Aug. 9, following market close. Last week, the company responded to rumors about a potential acquisition, stating that it “regularly examines transactions including partnerships, possible acquisitions, sales and mergers with third parties. There is no guarantee that any potential transaction will materialize.”
At the beginning of the year, Curaleaf announced it was closing three cultivation and production operations in California, Colorado and Oregon to “improve our cashflow and margins.”
