The Brazilian chain known for
its “churrasco” (a Brazilian technique of roasting and carving meat), Fogo de Chão will launch a 16-month calendar on Gaucho Day, Sept. 20. The holiday is celebrated in Brazil
in honor of gauchos and gauchas with parties, shows, parades on horseback, food and dance.
The calendar features various images relating to Fogo de Chão, including info on how to
properly pronounce the name of the restaurant itself, and shots of gauchos and the restaurant experience. Available at all U.S. locations, the calendar will be $20.
Five dollars of
the purchase price will go to the nonprofit No Kid Hungry, which works to solve hunger and poverty in the U.S. The calendar will also include quarterly promotions for customers to redeem in-store,
such as a free dessert with purchase of an entrée.

will give customers a $25 dining card for every $5 spent.
Traditionally, gauchos are soldiers who fought against the national military in Brazil from 1835 to 1845. Fogo de Chão’s
chefs who prepare meat in the traditional way are also known as gauchos and are trained in the art of churrasco.
Fogo de Chão, founded in southern Brazil in 1979 and now based in
Dallas, has 74 locations in the U.S. and internationally.
