Long-time agency media chief Sarah Fay (Aegis Media, Isobar, Carat, etc.) turned venture capitalist specializing in advertising-related AI startups, has left Boston-based Glasswing Ventues after seven years as a partner.
"I am transitioning from my role as partner and advisor," Fay posted on LinkedIn, describing her stint there as writing "a new chapter in my career to become a VC, adding, "In the firm's early days, we often had to explain why AI would be big enough as a focus for our thesis, and today AI is recognized as the biggest and most important technology wave in history."
Fay, who currently serves as the chair of Ziff Davis' board, says she plans to continue as a Glasswing advisor.
In 2007, she was inducted as a MediaPost All Star.
On Oct. 11, she's scheduled to co-host one of Madison Alley's "executive lounge" conversations with GroupM North America CEO Kirk McDonald.
