Fire Prevention Week, sponsored by the
National Fire Protection Association and held Oct. 8-14, will have help in providing prevention info. Domino’s has partnered with the organization to drive fire safety messaging directly to
homes across the U.S. (along with their pizzas).
Over the course of the week, participating Domino's franchise-owned and corporate stores will spotlight this year's campaign theme, "Cooking
safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention," by placing flyers on pizza boxes. Tips on how to prevent cooking fires and what to do if a fire does occur are in the flyers.
A few
customers are in for a much bigger surprise along with their pizza delivery: a visit from local firefighters riding on a full fire engine. The firefighters will inspect the customers’
homes’ fire alarms. If the alarms are in full working order, their pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will replace the batteries or install new fully
functioning alarms.

Fire stations across the country can opt to partner with their local Domino’s store for the promotion. On each day it participates, the station will select one to
three random orders to receive their delivery accompanied with the engine and firefighters.
Domino’s has worked with the National Fire Protection Association for over 15 years on fire
safety promotions. According to National Archives and Records Administration's Library Information Center, Fire Prevention Week is the longest running public health and safety observance on
record.
