For those times when a pizza can cure whatever ails you (or maybe just make it bit better), Domino’s has your back. Well, at least your pizza. This week it launched its first Emergency Pizza program, which provides a free medium two-topping pizza as a bonus for Rewards members making online orders.

"Perhaps you burned dinner, the power went out or maybe your in-laws just dropped in without notice -- whatever your emergency situation, Domino's believes a free pizza can make anything better," said Kate Trumbull, Domino's senior vice president – chief brand officer.

Domino’s customers who place a qualifying online order ($7.99 or more) from now until Feb. 11 will earn the emergency pie. They must to log in to the Domino’s Rewards loyalty program and place their order within 30 days of their original purchase. Excluded Emergency Pizza order days are Oct. 31, Dec. 31 and Feb. 11.

The company also recently relaunched its loyalty program, increasing customer rewards and providing more opportunities to redeem rewards and member-only promotions like the Emergency Pizza.

Earlier this week the world’s largest pizza chain released its third quarter 2023 financial results. Domino’s reported global retail sales growth (excluding foreign currency) of 4.9%, with a U.S. same store sales decline of 0.6%. The number of stores showed a net decline of eight units, comprised of 27 net U.S. store openings and 35 net international store closures, which reflects the closing of the remaining 143 net Domino’s stores in Russia. The company stated it has not received any royalties or fees from operations in the Russia market after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

As far as partnerships and loyalty go Russell Weiner, Domino’s Chief Executive Officer commented in a release, “Domino’s Rewards is engaging more customers, and our integration with Uber’s marketplace is on track. We are ready … to deliver the incremental orders both programs will bring in 2024 and beyond.”
