Interbrand New York Promotes Hardardottir To President

Brand consultancy Interbrand has promoted Holmfridur Hardardottir to president, Interbrand New York. She reports to Gonzalo Brujó, Interbrand’s Global CEO.

Interbrand is a part of Omnicom’s Brand Consulting Group.

Previously, Hardardottir spent six years as chief operating officer, Interbrand New York. She has responsibility for the four business portfolios, including key clients such as Toyota, Nasdaq, Verizon, IKEA, General Electric, Citi and Prudential.

Before this, Hardardottir served as general manager-executive director at FutureBrand New York. She has also worked as a client and business leader at Siegel+Gale New York and Los Angeles.

“We combine to make a dream team of passionate, strategically-minded, thinkers and makers — working with a client list of the world’s best global brands," Hardardottir said.

Interbrand turns 50 in June and has an impressive list of blue-chip clients, including Microsoft, Samsung, General Electric and BMW.

Brujó called Holmfridur “a big-picture thinker who can also manage the complexities of ongoing operations. There is no one more fitting to lead the North America business for its continued success.”

In November 2023, Interbrand released its Best Global Brands 2023 ranking, reporting many of the top 100 brands are in a state of stagnation. The rate of growth in overall brand value grew 5.7% in 2023 versus a 16% rise in 2022. Interbrand cited lack of growth mindset, weaker brand leadership and poor forecasting as reasons for the slowdown.
